Starterslift is the lead agency of the ‘Valorisatieplan West- en Midden-Brabant’. This project, partially financed by the national government, will end on 31 December 2017. Much has been achieved in the project period. Objectives have been exceeded even. Entrepreneurship education, support for start-ups, and knowledge valorisation initiatives have been developed extensively and their structural integration into higher education is an accomplished fact.

Starterslift is primarily known for the support it provides to start-ups in Midden- and West-Brabant and within the educational institutes of Tilburg University, Avans Hogeschool, Fontys Hogescholen and NHTV. The contributions of these start-ups to the economy have exceeded expectations.

With the project funding coming to an end on 31 December 2017, Starterslift will cease to exist. The six Brabant-based higher education institutes consider the support of start-ups so valuable that they are working on a new Brabant-wide start-up programme. They are doing this together with Provincie Noord-Brabant and Brabantse ontwikkelingsmaatschappij (BOM).

The employees who support the start-ups in higher education will continue to be active in this field and are expected to be part of the new programme. For the 7 employees of Stichting Starterslift, a redundancy plan will be drawn up.
