The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (Rijkswaterstaat) is going to closely collaborate with the Academy for Urban Development, Logistics and Mobility. In the coming three years, the Ministry and NHTV will cooperate in knowledge exchange and knowledge development concerning topical issues in the field of traffic and sustainable mobility. To this end, the two partners have signed an agreement today.
In the near future, the developments in the field of autonomous and sustainable mobility will radically change our infrastructure and mobility requirements. To continue meeting these requirements, much knowledge will need to be developed in the coming years. To this end, Rijkswaterstaat will make a structural contribution to the international professional bachelor’s programme in Built Environment by delivering guest lectures, practice-based education and participating in practice-based research. NHTV students, in their turn, are going to do work placements and graduation research projects at Rijkswaterstaat in the coming three years, with a focus on innovative solutions.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Hans Jeekel, top advisor Knowledge and Innovation Rijkswaterstaat and Nico van Os, member of the Executive Board of NHTV. Afterwards, there was a toast to this cooperation agreement and those present were given the opportunity to try out various showcases that had been developed by NHTV.
