Last weekend, for the seventh time in a row, NHTV welcomed prospective students from abroad for a couple of days. This time 55 students from Germany, Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Italy, Russia, Swiss, Austria, Spain, Estonia, Ireland, Finland, Norway, UK and Greece were present. The Marketing and Communication Office initiated this event in cooperation with Logistics, Tourism, Leisure, Hotel and Facility. Students of Logistics took care of the organisation and they did a very good job.
The enthusiastic visitors from abroad participated in lectures, experienced the flow of the Open Day, met other international students, and worked together in workshops. Moreover, NHTV’s Student Office held a presentation about all kinds of practical matters.
We also gave students a chance to explore student life in Breda by offering evening dinners at restaurant Publieke Werken in the city centre of Breda.
The knowledge quiz about the Netherlands in ‘Café Dok 19’ was great fun. According to feedback on the evaluation forms and the atmosphere in the group, we can say that it was a successful event. After the previous edition of the orientation days, some 30% of the visiting students actually applied for one of NHTV’s study programmes. All in all, a useful and pleasant happening which is definitely worth repeating.
That is why we are planning to organise the orientation days again in November, and we hope that all academies of NHTV are going to lend their support.
