The first days of the visit to China concentrated on Hangzhou, the second most popular tourist city of China, after Beijing. A mini-seminar was held for the management of Hangzhou Tourism Commission, tourism objects were subjected to a critical review, and the extent to which the city is hospitable to individual European visitors was examined. This provided food for discussion, in which the cultural differences presented an interesting challenge to mutual understanding.
Two universities were visited, including the number three in the Chinese national ranking. Good contacts with both universities were established as a point of departure for further development in the future.
