Alumna Pleun van Deurssen (International Facility Management) is the 2016 winner of the ‘Newcomer of the Year’ award by the BIFM – British Institute of Facility Management. During the BIFM Award Ceremony in London on 10 October, she left behind 3 other finalists.
Pleun is working for Incentive-FM in London. She started her career as an intern, and after several projects she is now a facilities manager and manages 17 internal staff members. The judges were impressed by Pleun Van Deurssen’s exceptional impact and commitment to the FM profession: ‘After joining Incentive FM Ltd in 2013, Pleun has taken every opportunity and excelled herself at every level, which has lead to a promotion three times. Her last promotion assisted in increasing the company’s portfolio by 400% in less than six months’.

The winner of the ‘Newcomer of the Year’ award is an individual who has made a significant impact on the provision of FM services to an organisation in the first three years of their FM career. This individual is an ambassador for the FM profession, who is passionate and committed and knowledgeable about the challenges and issues that are driving the future of FM.
