The International Media and Entertainment Management (IMEM) programme is the first programme in the Netherlands that has been accredited by the European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA). After the accreditation visit in February earlier this year, we recently have received the final outcome of the accreditation board: outstanding. An achievement to be proud of!

The accreditation is restricted to the members of the Edcom, the academic part of the EACA. As an active member, we contribute intensively to build bridges between industry and education on the European level. Key benefit for this accreditation: it contributes to industry recognition for students and thus, an introduction to the international media, marketing and communication job market. Next to that, it provides evidence of the highest teaching standards and comprehensive preparation of students for the work environment. Other benefits are:

  • Good reputation of accredited Edcom institutions which will result in more demand for its programmes
  • Annual sessions around Edcom meetings to share experiences and exchange feedback on how to improve curricula
  • Publication of accredited schools on the EACA Inspire! website
  • Continuous development for academics from accredited institutions

With this accreditation, all IMEM students who graduate will receive the EACA certificate as proof of our highly classified IMEM programme, on top of their national diploma. This will start in the new academic year 2017/2018.

About the Edcom
The European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA), together with the founding academic partners, has set up the European Institute for Commercial Communications Education (Edcom). The institute strives to promote excellence in commercial communications education and research and to further exchanges between the European commercial communications sector and academic partners. For more info on Edcom, look on their website, or contact Arnoud Versluis.
