On Wednesday 1 June 2016, the inauguration of three recently appointed professors from NHTV’s Academy for Digital Entertainment will take place. During the official and festive ceremony, professors Dr. Marnix van Gisbergen, Dr. Igor Mayer and Dr. Mata Haggis will deliver their inaugural lectures.
Design – the art of forming an idea into something people can experience – can be a part of every discipline in NHTV. During an event on 29 June, there is a chance to meet and discuss the ways we do this in the various academies and what our views on design are, as NHTV as a whole. We will also see what we can share and what we can learn from each other.
A cross-academy team of experts from AfL and ADE developed a connecting narrative concept and engaging storylines for the four largest war museums in Brabant. The concept is entitled ‘Crossroads: life changing stories in Brabant’.
On April 10, lecturer Fritz Kohle attended the Edinburgh event ‘Make your Market’ to speak on the topic of Online Authenticity and Social Media.
Moniek Hover, professor in Storytelling at the Academy for Leisure, and Licia Calvi, senior lecturer in Interactivity at the Academy for Digital Entertainment, published a chapter on Becoming Vincent in the book ‘Innovative Leisure Practices’ last December.
Academy for Digital Entertainment lecturer Arnoud Versluis has been appointed to the research committee of Edcom. This involvement means pushing the frontiers of where Edcom can make a difference for its members at research level. Publishing with this organisation is not only a good opportunity for the Academy for Digital Entertainment, but for all NHTV employees.
Together with the Academy for Urban Development, Logistics and Mobility, Atlantis Games will develop several games in the area of digital education resources and knowledge management for Control Towers.
On Wednesday 23 March from 12:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs, the next network lunch will take place at Dutch Game Garden Breda, Archimedesstraat 17 (next to the Academy for Leisure). You are invited to come eat a sandwich with us and do some networking with the Dutch games industry!
