The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) has presented NHTV as a new BIFM recognised centre. As a result, NHTV’s Facility Management department will be the first educational institute in mainland Europe to deliver BIFM qualifications.
A week ago we reported on Joseph Roevens, lecturer at Hotel and Facility Management, who consulted Zappos.com when they introduced a self-management form. Since then they have attracted media attention from all over the globe and Zappos reacted ‘in style’.
“De Standaard”, Belgium’s premier newspaper, interviewed Joseph Roevens about his views on Holacracy, a self-management form introduced in Zappos.com. This is the famous online shoe retailer which sought consultancy from Joseph in May 2015.
In an interview with NHTV Insight (see below), Leadership lecturer Dr. Joseph Roevens already explained the value of teaching Leadership & Followership, using the Tango as an analogy. On 31 August 2015 he was commissioned by the Master in International Management programme to deliver the workshop to 50 international students of Tilburg University.

For the 14th time in its history, the Golden Bell Award was bestowed on first-year students from the study programme in International Hotel Management. The award was bestowed on the best project group to carry out the assignment ‘The Lobby of the Future’. The Award is bestowed annually by hospitality professionals from home and abroad.
On 8 June, Stan Josephi (Academy for Hotel and Facility Management) receives his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree. He will defende his dissertation ‘The Phenomenology of Revenue Management: Explorations in the Hotel Industry’ at the Maastricht School of Management.
With a little help from his (colleague) friends, dr. Joseph Roevens joined Zappos’ quarterly ‘ALL-HANDS meeting’ in Las Vegas on 19 May. In the days afterwards, Joseph coached several Zapponians.
