On 25 February 2016, the Master in Imagineering celebrated its 10-year anniversary. The anniversary celebrations were combined with the annual alumni network meeting. Communication Centre made a short video impression of this day.
Six Attractions & Theme Parks Management students spent 20 weeks on their minor assignment for Europa-Park. They had to develop a live cooking catering experience and came up with poffertjes, a traditional Dutch treat. It is the first time that an NHTV minor project is actually carried out by Europa-Park, the best European leisure park.
The Academy for Leisure organises track trips for first-year Leisure Management students who are going to have to choose a track in their second year. Social Innovation, one of the tracks, strongly believes in co-creation, which is why not only first-year Leisure Management students were invited, but also Social Innovation students and colleagues.
On 1 March 2016 the third edition of the Open Your Mind Sessions took place. During these sessions students from the Master in Imagineering present academic books which they have studied. The subject of this edition was ‘Implementation’.
On 11 March 2016, in the Dutch radio programme Radio EenVandaag, Albert van Schendel (AfL) talked about the economic and social effects of the visit of the Dutch King to the city of Zwolle on King’s Day.
Wilco van Gool, lecturer of the Academy for Leisure, is having an interesting and exciting time while he is on placement at the municipality of Breda. Academy for Leisure invests in the education of its employees by offering a placement to one or two lecturers for two days a week over a longer period of time.
On 4 March NHTV announced Rutger de Wit from Franeker, the Netherlands, to be the first European Theme Park Talent. He will receive his prize on the open day of NHTV on 12 March.
On Friday 4 March, NHTV and De Rooi Pannen signed an agreement to confirm their commitment to offer ‘mhbo’ study tracks for ‘havo’ graduates. The agreement was signed in the presence of the Executive Board, faculty management, and students.
Just like last year, NHTV’s Master in Imagineering has been chosen as top-rated programme by ‘Keuzegids Masters 2016’. On top of that, the programme has also been rated best in the wide-ranging category of Business Administration.
