The international field project of the 2nd year BSc Tourism students, currently takes place in Toraja on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. It has picked up regional media attention. The Makassar Tribune published a short interview with student Nike van der Velde.

The students cooperate with SwissContact (a business-oriented foundation for international development cooperation), Destination Management Organisation Toraja, and students and lecturers from STP Bandung (one of Indonesia’s leading tourism universities). The students work in three groups to analyse three tourism-related value chains. Their aim is to identify opportunities for product diversification and improving destination sustainability.

Curious about their experiences? Check out their blog.
