Basic Dutch for international students

The Basic Dutch Course (BDC) is a Dutch language course for beginners which lasts 14 weeks (1,5 hr. per week) and leads you up to A1.2/A2.1 level (Common European Framework of Reference Modern Languages, 1996). It is offered from  3 October to 23 January 2018.

The BDC is meant for exchange students and all NHTV students whose academies won’t organise Dutch language courses for foreign students. There are two opportunities to attend the BDC; on Tuesday evening from 18.30 till 20.00 hrs or on Thursday afternoon from 17.00 till 18.30 hrs. BDC1 starts on 3 October and BDC2 on 5 October in N1.104 (Mgr. Hopmansstraat 1).

  1. To enroll in the Basic Dutch Course, please send me an email in which you let me know which course you’d like to sign up for; BDC1 on Tuesday evening or BDC2 on Thursday afternoon.
  2. To complete your enrollment, you are required to transfer 100 euro to the NHTV account. For payment, please go to the NHTV website Log in with your username and password you use to get access to the portal. Go to ‘Academy for Tourism’ and type: ‘Basic Dutch Course’. After giving an enter the site pops up and you click on ‘add’ and just follow the instructions.
  3. By passing the final test in the last week of the course your tuition fee will be refunded to you completely.
  4. Please send me a copy of your payment slip. Once your payment has been received, you’ll be sent the course material required in week 39 before the weekend.
