Dutch retailers lost 1.23% of their turnover because of shoplifting and fraud in 2013. That is why the consortium of game development studio Atlantis Games B.V. and retail consultant Q&A Research & Consultancy started the project “Virtual Theft Prevention for Retail”. The game is played on a web-based platform, in which a virtual reality head-mounted display is used to visualise the real world.
